I was Born 1974 in Basel (Switzerland), but grew
up in Bätterkinden which is a little village between Bern and
Solothurn.
After attending and finishing High School in 1995 in Burgdorf (Wirtschaftsmatur),
I began studying mechanical Engineer at
the Federal Technical University in Zürich.
In 1997 I got the chance doing an internship for 15 months as a
mechanical designer with DUAP (www.duap.ch).
In the process
of getting my Engineering Degree, I transferred to the University
of Applied Sciences Burgdorf in 1998. I graduated in January of
2002.
During my bachelors project I worked as an application Engineer
on a combined Laser welding system (6-Axis robots and
a 1.5 kW Nd:YAG-Laser) for the Institute of applied Lasertechnology
(IALT).
For 7 Month I stayed with IALT and worked on research projects with
the Nd:YAG-Laser as well as on a Diode-Laser. I also represented
IALT successfully on three different welding/industrial fairs, where
we worked closely with industrial partners.
In 1998 I started working for B&P (www.bracher.ch)
in the Internet sector. I got the necessary training on the job,
so that I was able
to work independently as a project manager in a part-time employment-relationship.
At the beginning of Sept. 2004 I succesfully earned my Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
at the Oregon State University
in the USA. My master thesis was in the field of design research and mainly focused on
the quantification of social effects while making decisions towards a product strategy by prioritising customer requirements.
Since January 2005 I am with RUAG Land Systems in Thun.
I´ve got the chance to work as System Engineer and Mechanical Project Manager for the ABLV Finland.
In 2007 I was promoted to Teamleader for armoured vehicles.
From 2008 onward I was additionally assigned as Technical Project Manager for the AEV3S / AEBV on behalf of RUAG Land Systems.
